Search Intent (The "Why" Behind a Query)

The real reason someone typed a search — whether they want an answer, a website, a comparison, or to buy right now.

2.1 — Keyword & Content Strategy

…Every piece of content we plan is mapped to the search intent behind its target keyword, not just the keyword itself.…

What it means

Search intent is the underlying goal behind a search query, generally categorized as informational, navigational, commercial, or transactional.

A search for "how does SEO work" is informational, while "best SEO agency near me" is commercial — ranking for a keyword does little good if the page does not match what the searcher actually wants.

Prevents wasted content

Matching intent ensures a page satisfies the searcher instead of bouncing them right back to Google.

Improves conversion rates

Content aligned with commercial or transactional intent turns visitors into leads far more often.

Guides the content plan

Understanding intent tells you what format — guide, comparison, or product page — a topic actually needs.

DNA’s Take

DNA's Take: We map search intent before writing a single word of content, because the right topic in the wrong format still fails to rank or convert.
